The last thing most people want to think about is how am I going to take care of myself and how will I afford it when I get older or become disabled and need long term care. When we’re young we think we will be healthy forever. We will age gracefully and die in our sleep after a good long life. We think, “I won’t be one of those older people who need help, I’ll be able to cook and clean and bath and drive, etc.” Well folks unless we stay very healthy and have no debilitating diseases to deal with we probably will need assistance of some kind in our senior years.
